Rufus is a utility that helps format and create bootable USB flash drives, such as USB keys/pendrives, memory sticks, etc. It is an application that burns iso files in your USB and make it bootable so that you can boot your computer from your USB. Many application that make your USB bootable should be installed. But Rufus is not like that. It's just an 616KB size free application and you should not install it. Just download it and double click it. Then burn your uncorrupted iso file in your USB and make it bootable in the easy way.
Despite its small size, it's fast as UNetbootin, Universal USB Installer or Windows 7 USB download tool, on the creation of a Windows 7 USB installation drive from an ISO. It is also faster on the creation of Linux bootable USB from ISOs.
